Role Description
The
Merchant Acquisition Manager
plays a critical role in growing our merchant ecosystem. You will be responsible for identifying, pitching, negotiating, and onboarding strategic merchant partners that bring our brand promise to life.
This role is ideal for a commercially strong individual who can engage business owners, key decision-makers, navigate longer sales cycles, and build high-impact partnerships with well-established brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, and acquire merchants across
Retail, Food & Beverage, Lifestyle, and Specialty
categories
- Lead end-to-end acquisition for strategic merchants: prospecting, pitching, negotiation, contracting, and onboarding
- Pitch Pick.A.Roo's value proposition through compelling presentations and tailored merchant proposals
- Build and maintain a healthy merchant pipeline aligned with growth targets
- Engage senior stakeholders and decision-makers within merchant organizations
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and category gaps to inform acquisition strategy
- Partner closely with
Content, Marketing, Operations, and Tech
teams to ensure smooth onboarding and strong merchant launches
- Ensure newly onboarded merchants are set up for early success on the platform
Ideal Candidate
- Energetic, curious, and culturally aware, with a strong instinct for spotting promising brands
- Confident negotiator comfortable discussing pricing, margins, and commercial structures
- Polished communicator with executive-level presentation skills
- Relationship builder, loves connecting with people and able to engage both internal and external partners
- Commercially minded, but genuinely motivated by helping businesses grow
- Organized, adaptable, and results-oriented in a fast-moving environment
- Passionate about retail, food, lifestyle, and culture
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in
Business, Marketing, Sales
, or a related field
- Atleast
5-8 years of experience
in sales, business development, partnerships, or similar roles
- Experience in
e-commerce, retail, food & beverage, or marketplace platforms
is a strong advantage
