One World Deli is a unique culinary destination that blends a premium market with an in-house dining experience. Our in-house kitchen prepares a diverse range of international deli-style cuisine, including dry-aged meats, fresh seafood, and house-made pasta and pizza. We're looking for a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to help lead our dynamic kitchen team.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Sous Chef to work alongside our Head Chef. As the second-in-command, you will be a key leader in our kitchen, responsible for maintaining our high standards of quality and efficiency. You will be a hands-on manager, a creative culinary partner, and a mentor to our talented team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Kitchen Leadership: Lead and manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Culinary Execution: Ensure every dish is prepared and presented to One World Deli's high standards of quality and consistency.
- Team Management: Assist in training, scheduling, and supervising kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee inventory, manage ordering, and minimize waste to maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Menu Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Chef to assist with menu development, including daily specials and new culinary offerings.
- Quality & Safety: Uphold and enforce strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume, quality-focused kitchen.
- Extensive knowledge of various culinary techniques and a passion for working with premium, international ingredients.
- Strong leadership, delegation, and communication skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A solid understanding of kitchen management, including inventory, ordering, and scheduling.
- A culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
