Project in Charge/Project Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Project Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the complete construction and administrative requirements of the various bid packages; organizing the complexities into a management system that will establish, monitor, and follow up on each subcontractor/vendor's compliance; and orchestrating the information flows needed for each component and system to be incorporated into the project—all within the time frames needed by the progress schedule. Strict attention to detail, a profound appreciation for time constraints, and a sober understanding of the dividends reaped through proper documentation all add up to an effective Project Engineer. Duties include:

· Working with the Project In-Charge to develop site utilization programs

· Establishing, maintaining, conducting, and policing detailed procedures for the submittal, review, coordination, approval, and distribution of shop drawings, samples, etc.

· Establishing and maintaining all project engineering files relating to subcontract and bid package records, plans, specifications, changes, clarifications, and as-built documents

· Reviewing all vendor schedules of values and the general schedule of values as coordinated with the Project Control team

· Expediting vendor estimates and proposals and preparing appropriate company estimates and proposals for changes to be submitted to the Owner

· Determining appropriateness and preparing subcontractor change orders to be processed through the Project Manager

· Evaluating subcontractor payment requisitions relative to actual work performed

· Working with the Project Manager, and Project Cost Tracker to prepare the general requisition and follow it through to payment

The Project In-Charge is responsible for the supervision of all field activities related to the physical construction. He or she reports to, and carries out the direction of, the Project Manager with respect to field operations, and thereby directs the daily progress of the work. The jobsite workforce is made up of an army of specialists. The Project In-Charge must ensure that the combination of their components results in a cohesive product that achieves the required quality and is completed in the shortest possible time. To that end, the Project In-Charge must continually work to ensure adequate staffing of the workforce, sufficient supply of materials, and complete information as necessary to build the project, and must plan for all these things enough in advance so as not to interfere with the progress of any one component. General duties of the Project In-Charge include:

· Generating, securing, or otherwise confirming all information needed to create, monitor, and modify the progress schedule on a continuing basis.

· Developing and updating the progress schedule with the Project Manager and Project Controls team

· Participating in scope reviews of the various awarded packages to properly coordinate their respective interfaces and ensure that nothing is either left out or bought twice

· Develop and administer the site utilization program, site services, security arrangements, and other facilities and arrangements necessary for appropriate service to the construction effort

· Identifying field-construction and work-sequence considerations

· Monitoring actual versus required performance by all parties

· Determining whether subcontractors are providing sufficient workforce and hours of work to achieve performance commitments

· Coordinate with Procurement, TSG and Project Control teams to ensure that all subcontracts, material purchases, submittals, deliveries, clarifications, and changes are processed in time to guarantee jobsite arrival by, or before, the times needed

· Directing any company field staff

· Being thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the general contract, thereby identifying changes, conflicts, etc., that are beyond the scope of responsibility

Manage preparation of daily reports, job diaries, narratives, and all other regular and special documentation as determined by the company and by the project needs.
