General Accounting Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to the Accounting Department in the execution of various financial tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, sales invoicing, bookkeeping, and inventory management. The role also entails the preparation, verification, and proper documentation of financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of vouchers (cheque, accounts payable, journal, petty cash fund)
  • Verification and documentation of purchase orders, delivery receipts, sales invoices, receiving reports, and expense reports
  • Preparation of journal entries and maintenance of general ledger accounts
  • Assistance in internal audits and compliance reporting
  • Custodianship of company property and assets
  • Safeguarding the confidentiality of all financial and company information

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Financial Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) months of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in accounting systems, preferably QuickBooks
  • Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Suite
