  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required). Additional vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair is preferred.

o Automotive Servicing (NC2),

o Chasis Repair (NC2)

o Electrical (NC2)

  1. Years of Experience:

o 5–10 years of experience as a diesel mechanic (For Sr Mechanics) or 2 -5 years experience (For Jr-mechanics), preferably working with diesel Engine or heavy equipment such as Forklift (32 tonner), Side stacker and cranes.

  1. Industry Experience: Familiarity with shipping industry.

  2. Leadership: Prior experience in a senior, managing junior mechanics or leading projects.

  3. Diagnostics and Repair:

o Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and powertrains.

o Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software (e.g., Cummins INSITE, or similar platforms).

  1. Preventive Maintenance:

o Skilled in conducting inspections, scheduled maintenance, and overhauls.

  1. Fabrication and Welding: Ability to perform basic welding and fabrication tasks is an advantage

  2. Troubleshooting: Expertise in identifying and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues.
