CORE PROFILE
A technical and people-oriented leader is sought to manage an engineering team focused on merchant face-to-face payment solutions, including but not limited to Maya POS terminals.

This role will contribute to defining the technology roadmap for these platforms and will provide guidance to promote the team's professional development within the organization.

NATURE OF WORK

• Manage a cross-functional engineering team dedicated to payment terminals and QR solutions.
• Collaborate with other Product and Engineering departments to deliver a comprehensive and inclusive enterprise solution.
• Evaluate product and functional specifications, partnering closely with Product and Business teams to shape and advance the product's future.
• Develop platform-focused roadmaps that align both Product and Tech visions, ensuring the platform evolves and scales with business requirements.
• Assist with production matters and address external challenges
• As a people leader, support and foster the professional growth and development of the team at Maya.

DISPLAYED SKILL MASTERY

• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Skilled in native Android/mobile development, including Kotlin, Java, Retrofit, Dagger, modularization, MVVM, and Clean Architecture
• Experienced in designing APIs required for Android applications
• Capable of managing the complete development cycle for new features and enhancements, covering analysis, design, implementation, testing, and operational support
• Ability to lead teams tackling challenging problems across diverse technologies
• Experience in mentoring and coaching junior engineers to help them improve technical skills
• Knowledge of backend technologies and programming languages, such as Typescript and JavaScript, is an added advantage.
• Knowledge in AWS and cloud computing is a plus

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• 5+ years software development experience as a Development Engineer, Quality Engineer, or DevOps/ Site Reliability Engineer. At least 2 years as a team lead or a technical lead.
• Skilled in native Android/mobile development, including Kotlin, Java, Retrofit, Dagger, modularization, MVVM, and Clean Architecture
• Experience architecting continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using Gitlab for mobile applications
• Experience in building and maintaining high-performing product engineering teams
• Knowledge in building and consuming RESTful web APIs and/or GraphQL is a plus
• Agile: Scrum or Kanban
