About this role. . .
The purpose of the Graduate Accountant position is to support the preparation of Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) accounts and undertake a range of related administrative tasks. Working under the guidance of senior staff, the graduate will assist with the preparation of financial statements, compliance documentation, and tax returns for SMSFs. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all administrative duties are completed efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements. This position provides a strong foundation for developing technical skills and industry knowledge in a professional accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing income tax returns, BAS, and financial statements for SMSFs, ensuring compliance with ATO regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and ensure clients comply with the latest requirements.
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations and maintain workpapers to support financial and tax reporting.
  • Assist with ASIC compliance and corporate secretarial duties, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Provide support with administrative tasks.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations to ensure compliance.

About you. .

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of accounting experience is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Xero, and/or Class (training to be provided)
  • Desired Skills: Basic understanding of Australian tax laws and accounting principles, attention to detail, and strong analytical abilities.
