PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for daily management of assigned vessel/s in relation to safety of the vessel/crew/cargo (if any), sea worthiness, operation, statutory requirements, technical operations, quality maintenance and cost efficiency.
  • Is the one point contact on all matters for assigned vessel.
  • Also performs other functions or participates in adhoc projects as may be assigned from time to time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To handle vessel deck, engine, machineries overall maintenance and repairs
  • To ensure vessels under his/her fleet are in good working condition and operational 24/7,
  • prevent downtime and unscheduled maintenance works.
  • To make sure the vessel is performing PMS properly and on time, and to provide the technical know-how in performing correct and proper PMS.
  • Coordinate/provide all necessary PR for the repairs and maintenance.
  • To attend vessel dry docking repairs and surveys/inspections under his/her fleet or as assigned by the Technical Manager
  • To be able to provide periodic assessments in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the engineering department.

Qualifications;

  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering and related course
  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PRC Certified ) or other relevant license is a plus
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in shipping particularly in dry-docking, ship hull, engine and machinery maintenance and repair
  • Experienced in managing and leading people
  • Knowledgeable in technical processes such as class surveys, naval construction and related engineering tasks
  • Familiarity with MARINA regulations, IACS standards, and local class rules.
