IT Consultant

The IT Consultant provides expert, on-call technical advice and support on the organization's IT systems, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technology solutions. This role is not office-based and will be tapped only when specific issues, projects, or system enhancements require advanced technical knowledge. The IT Consultant evaluates IT needs, recommends improvements, resolves escalated issues, and supports digital and security initiatives to ensure efficient and secure operations.

2.0 Key Responsibilities:

2.1 IT Advisory & Strategy

· Assess existing IT systems, network design, hardware/software setup, and workflows to identify areas for improvement.

· Provide strategic recommendations for system upgrades, infrastructure improvement, and technology investments.

· Advise management on IT budgeting, vendor selection, and long-term system planning.

2.2 Systems Assessment & Implementation

• Conduct remote or on-site assessments to diagnose issues or

evaluate system requirements.

• Design and recommend solutions for networks, servers, cloud services, and applications.
• Support the implementation, configuration, and testing of new IT systems when engaged.

• 2.3 Infrastructure & Network Support

• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network, server, connectivity, or

hardware issues.

• Recommend improvements for system reliability, performance, and

efficiency.

• Guide the organization in maintaining proper infrastructure setup,

including backups, access controls, and system monitoring.

2.4 Cybersecurity & Data Protection

• Conduct periodic or on-call security checks, vulnerability assessments,

and risk reviews.

• Recommend cybersecurity tools, controls, and policies to protect

company data.

• Support the implementation or enhancement of disaster recovery and

data backup strategies.

• Ensure advice aligns with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and internal data

security protocols.

2.5 Technical Support (On-Call)

• Provide on-call, escalation-level support for issues beyond routine

troubleshooting.

• Assist the IT team or service providers in resolving high-level technical

incidents.

• Offer guidance on recurring technical problems and propose permanent

solutions.

2.6 Documentation & Reporting

• Submit clear, detailed reports and recommendations after each

engagement or issue resolution.

• Document system assessments, configurations, or changes made during

consultations.

• Provide user guidelines or recommendations when introducing new

systems or processes.

2.7 Other Duties

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices.

• Provide training sessions or briefings upon request.

• Perform other relevant tasks aligned with consultancy scope.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer

Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Certifications (Preferred)

• CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+

• Microsoft (Azure/M365)

• Cisco CCNA/CCNP

• ITIL Foundations

• Cybersecurity certifications (CEH, CISM, CISSP)

Experience

• At least 3–5 years experience in IT administration,

system/network management, or IT consulting.

• Proven ability to work independently and manage technical

tasks with minimal supervision.

• Experience supporting remote and on-call environments.

· With HRIS, CRM knowledge

4. WORKING CONDITIONS

• Not office-based; work is performed remotely or on-site only

when requested.

• On-call availability for urgent IT issues, escalations, or project-based work.

• May require occasional travel to company offices, branches, or client sites.

• Work hours vary depending on project or escalation

requirements.
