Job Title: Estimator

Our client is a well-established company in the glass and glazing industry and is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join their team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for window installation projects, analyzing project requirements, and ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Cost Analysis

  • Prepares detailed cost estimates for window installation projects based on specifications, materials, and labor requirements.
  • Reviews project plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine the scope of work and estimate costs accurately.
  • Ensures that all estimates align with industry standards, project timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Collaborates with suppliers and vendors to obtain accurate pricing for materials and services.

Software & Technical Proficiency

  • Utilizes Architectural Window Systems (AWS) products and Vquote database' for accurate cost calculations and project estimations.
  • Ensures proper configuration of window systems using industry-specific software.
  • Analyzes data and generates reports to support project planning and decision-making.

Project Coordination & Stakeholder Communication

  • Works closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure project feasibility.
  • Communicates effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to clarify project details and cost considerations.
  • Provides recommendations on cost-saving measures without compromising quality or compliance.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensures that all estimates comply with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Conducts risk assessments to identify potential cost overruns or project challenges.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing fluctuations.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in construction estimating, specifically in windows and glazing.
  • Familiar with Architectural Window Systems (AWS) products and Vquote database
  • Strong understanding of window fabrication, materials, and installation processes.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and estimating software (Soft Tech V6 - Vquote).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
