Mid to Senior Shopify Developer Job Summary:

The Mid to Senior Shopify Developer leads the planning, development, and optimization of advanced Shopify e-commerce solutions. This role is responsible for building scalable custom themes, implementing complex integrations, improving storefront performance, and ensuring best-practice development standards. They mentor junior developers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, conversion-driven Shopify experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, customization, and maintenance of Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.
  • Develop reusable front-end components and scalable architectures for Shopify stores.
  • Implement advanced third-party and API integrations (e.g., payment gateways, analytics tools, CRM/ERP, custom apps).
  • Optimize website performance, accessibility, SEO structure, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex functional and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to transform wireframes into efficient, user-focused storefronts.
  • Work with marketing and product teams to support conversion optimization, A/B testing, personalization, and campaign builds.
  • Establish coding standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
  • Maintain documentation for custom development, integrations, and process guidelines. Required Skills &

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Digital Media, or equivalent experience. Strong expertise in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Shopify theme architecture.
  • Proven experience building and launching end-to-end Shopify stores.
  • In-depth understanding of Shopify platform limitations and structured workarounds.
  • Experience with API integrations, GraphQL/REST, and webhooks.
  • Solid understanding of e-commerce UX, CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization), and responsive design.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, and agile development practices.
  • Strong debugging skills, analytical thinking, and proactive problem-solving.

Preferred (Nice to Have):

  • Experience developing Shopify apps (custom or private apps).
  • Knowledge of headless Shopify using Hydrogen, React, or other JAMstack frameworks.
  • Experience with SEO strategy, analytics tools (Google Analytics, GA4, Meta Pixel), and page speed optimization.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
  • Leadership experience in technical mentoring or project coordination.
