Role description

  1. System Management:

a. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware

b. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.

c. Monitor system performance and ensure high availability

  1. Network Administration:

a. Configure and maintain network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).

b. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.

c. Implement and manage VPNs and remote access solutions

  1. Security Management:

a. Implement and maintain security protocols and measures.

b. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

c. Manage antivirus, anti-malware, and other security tools.

  1. Backup and Recovery:

a. Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans.

b. Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures.

c. Ensure data integrity and availability.

  1. Documentation and Reporting:

a. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and procedures.

b. Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and maintenance activities.

  1. Support and Troubleshooting:

a. Provide technical support to end-users and resolve IT-related issues.

b. troubleshoot hardware and software problems.

c. Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software support

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration.

Technical Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Tools/Software

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash).

Certification (if applicable)

  • CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent certifications.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or similar.
