Primary Responsibilities

Manage and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, and firewall infrastructure across hospitals, clinics, and remote sites.

Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability for clinical and administrative systems.

Perform regular updates, patches, and configuration changes on network devices (Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, etc.).

Maintain accurate documentation including network diagrams, asset inventories, and change logs.

Assess current network infrastructure and recommend improvements to enhance performance, security, and scalability.

Lead network design and architecture for new healthcare facilities, cloud migrations, and digital health initiatives.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare IT regulations.

Collaborate with IT leadership, cybersecurity teams, and clinical stakeholders to align network strategy with organizational goals.

Provide mentorship to junior staff and contribute to IT governance and policy development.

Experience with SD-WAN, NAC, and zero-trust architectures

Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments

Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, WhatsUp Gold, New Relic & Wireshark)

Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills

Participates in On Call Rotation 24/7.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field

10 years of experience in network administration

Strong expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies

Hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5 or similar platforms

Familiarity with healthcare IT systems and protocols (e.g., HL7, DICOM)

Deep understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare compliance standards

Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent

  • Amenable to work in any Optum Sites (Muntinlupa, Taguig, Makati, Quezon City, Cebu)
  • Willing to work on a Hybrid work set set (mostly work from home)
