The Pharmacy Assistant's responsibilities and duties include:

  • entering patient information and prescriptions into a computer system
  • maintaining proper drug storage and inventory
  • ensuring medication is secure
  • assisting with preparing, packaging, and labelling medicines
  • organizing inventory and alerting pharmacists on stock shortages
  • answering phone calls from patients and clients
  • addressing customer concerns and answering questions or transferring the customer to the pharmacist
