JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Senior Accounting Officer (Payroll & Disbursement)

Reports to: Department Head

Work Unit: Finance Division

Supervises: Accounting Assistant - Payroll

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Supervise recording and ensure accuracy of books for accounts payables (balances and reconciles ledgers and or journals)
  • Ensure timely processing payments of payables to personnel (employees, contractors, etc.), vendors and suppliers, and ensures efficient processing of petty cash funds of concerned departments/clients.
  • Monitors accuracy of payments made and ensures compliance to company policies, sound accounting rules, and government regulations.
  • Approves disbursements of payables (payroll and payments) and monitors timely and accurate financial transactions for these functions through traditional (onsite cash or check transactions) or online financial platforms.
  • Reviews post-payment records and check reconciliation of supplier statements and payroll registries; resolves discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Ensures that books of accounts meet regulatory requirements and proper information is maintained for historical references and audit documentation.
  • Coordinate and verify with External Auditor for the correctness in the computation and payment of monthly government payments.
  • Represents the company in relation to transactions processed, and deals with vendors, suppliers, banks and other financial institutions, and relevant government agencies.

Qualifications Standards:

Education

  • BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field

Professional Experience

  • 5 years' work experience in general accounting, financial reporting and planning, taxation, payroll, financial analysis, budgeting gained from non-profit organization in a Managerial capacity
  • Proven work experience as an accounts payables management or supervision,  or a similar role
  • Experience with accounting software, data entry, and financial analysis
  • Ability to manage and lead a team
