The Safety Head in a construction company is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and providing training to minimize accidents and injuries.

Job Description:

  • Develop, enforce, and monitor safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments. Regularly assess construction sites to identify potential hazards and implement control measures to mitigate risks.
  • Provide safety training programs for all personnel, ensuring that workers are knowledgeable about safety practices and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform regular inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with safety standards and to identify any unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, prepare safety reports, and ensure that all documentation is up to date.
  • Work closely with project team, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety measures into project plans and operations.
  • Foster a culture of safety within the organization by encouraging open communication about safety concerns and promoting best practices among all workers.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in construction management or any related field is preferred.
  • Previous related experience in a similar role is highly desirable, along with relevant certifications such as OSHA, COSH, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to analyze data and prepare detailed reports are essential.
