Job Summary

We are seeking a Design Engineer / Land Development Engineer who will take responsibility for preparing, developing, and finalizing civil design drawings for land development projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial sites. The role will focus on site grading, cut-and-fill analysis, stormwater management, roadway layouts, and utility design. The successful candidate will also be required to sign and seal engineering plans as part of the deliverables, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, and specifications for:
  • Site grading and cut-and-fill optimization
  • Stormwater management and drainage systems
  • Roadway and utility layouts (water, sewer, electrical)
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of civil design documents in compliance with codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct site assessments and assist in feasibility studies to inform project design.
  • Coordinate with surveyors, architects, planners, and engineers to gather inputs and integrate designs.
  • Review and revise drawings based on feedback from senior engineers and project managers.
  • Assist in the permitting process by preparing required technical documents and drawings for regulatory submission.
  • Provide technical support during project execution, including responding to design-related issues.
  • Maintain organized project files and ensure all signed and sealed documents are properly logged.
  • Stay updated with industry design standards, software tools, and regulatory changes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensure: Licensed Civil Engineer (with authority to sign and seal plans).
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in land development or subdivision projects. Strong internship/project exposure will also be considered.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design software.
  • Solid understanding of grading, cut-and-fill analysis, stormwater management, and site utilities.
  • Knowledge of zoning regulations, permitting processes, and applicable building codes.
