Job Title: Accounting Assistant (with Tax Focus)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. General Accounting Support

  2. Assist in day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting transactions.

  3. Prepare and maintain financial documents, records, and reports.
  4. Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable monitoring.
  5. Check Inventory Transactions

  6. Tax Compliance and Reporting

  7. Prepare and file BIR tax returns (e.g., VAT, Compensation Tax, Withholding Tax, Income Tax).

  8. Ensure accurate and timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports.
  9. Assist in preparing tax schedules and supporting documents for BIR audits.
  10. Assist in preparing schedules and supporting documents for external audit.

  11. Government Compliance

  12. Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with BIR regulations and requirements.

  13. Assist in online filing through eBIRForms and payment via bank payment or other authorized platforms.
  14. Checking of BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG premium remittance and payroll computation.

  15. Bank and Cash Transactions

  16. Reconcile bank statements with accounting records.

  17. Support in Financial Reporting

  18. Assist in preparing financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement).

  19. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

  20. Document Management

  21. Maintain organized filing of all accounting, tax, and compliance documents.

  22. Ensure proper storage and confidentiality of sensitive financial data.

  23. Other Administrative Tasks

  24. Support the Accounting Officer or Finance Manager in ad hoc tasks.

  25. Participate in internal audits and other reviews.

Qualifications for Hiring:

  1. Educational Background

  2. Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.

  3. Experience

  4. Preferably with at least 1 to 2 years of experience in general accounting and tax compliance.

  5. Technical Skills

  6. Knowledge of BIR tax filings and related government compliance.

  7. Familiarity with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) is a plus.
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

  9. Other Competencies

  10. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  11. Good organizational and time management skills.
  12. Can work with minimal supervision.
  13. Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information.
