Fenestration CAD Technician – PVC

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Fenestration CAD Technician to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will produce accurate, detailed fabrication drawings for PVC and Aluminium windows and doors. These drawings will be used directly by our factory floor and CNC machinery, so real-world experience in window and door manufacturing is essential.

This is not a generic CAD drafting role — applicants must have proven experience in the fenestration industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed fabrication drawings for PVC & Aluminium windows, doors, sliders, and glazing systems
• Produce cutting lists, profile sections, accessories layouts, and hardware positioning
• Prepare accurate machining details for CNC production
• Read and interpret architect drawings and customer specifications
• Ensure all designs comply with product standards, manufacturing constraints, and safety requirements
• Work closely with production managers, surveyors, and installers
• Update designs based on technical feedback and job-site revisions
• (Optional but preferred) Work within Logikal, Windowmaker, or similar fenestration software

Requirements

• Mandatory: Experience producing CAD drawings specifically for windows, doors, and glazing systems
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting tools
• Knowledge of PVC and Aluminium profile systems (e.g., AluK, Reynaers, Deceuninck, etc.)
• Understanding of:
• Mullions, transoms, beads, sashes
• Reinforcement requirements
• Thermal breaks and drainage
• Glazing tolerances and packers
• Hardware placement (hinges, locks, restrictors, etc.)
• Ability to translate drawings accurately to real-world fabrication
• High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and meet timelines

Desirable Skills

• Experience using Logikal, Windowmaker, or equivalent window/door design software
• Experience with CNC machining output or machine prepping
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Previous work in a window/door manufacturing environment
