a. Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs and policies.

b. Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are adhered to throughout the organization or project.

c. Update safety policies in accordance with changes in regulations, laws, or industry standards.

d. Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.

e. Recommend and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.

f. Evaluate and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety systems.

g. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations.

h. Coordinate with regulatory agencies and ensure that the organization or site meets all compliance requirements.

i. Prepare documentation and reports for internal audits and external safety inspections.

j. Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.

k. Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.

l. Maintain accurate records of safety violations, incidents, and compliance actions.

m. Design and deliver safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and contractors to promote a safe working environment.

n. Develop specialized safety training modules for high-risk activities.

o. Mentor and guide junior safety officers or team members.

p. Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire safety plans, and first aid protocols.

q. Conduct emergency drills and simulations to ensure readiness for various potential incidents.

r. Oversee crisis management and response in case of emergencies or accidents.

s. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of workplaces, equipment, and operations.

t. Recommend continuous improvements to safety programs and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.

u. Ensure that safety practices and lessons learned are shared across all departments or projects.

v. Supervise and lead safety teams, ensuring that all safety-related responsibilities are effectively managed.

w. Provide strategic leadership and input into the development of long-term safety goals.

x. Collaborate with management and other departments to integrate safety into overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

a. Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field.

b. Several years of experience in safety management, preferably in high-risk industries (construction, etc.)

c. Strong understanding of local and international safety regulations and standards.

d. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

e. Ability to conduct detailed risk assessments and hazard analysis.
