Vice President for Business Excellence

RAFI Microfinance is looking for a strategic Vice President for Business Excellence who will champion continuous improvement, operational discipline, and organizational effectiveness across the institution. This leader will play a pivotal role in shaping how our teams design processes, deliver projects, manage data, and build a culture of learning and innovation that strengthens our mission to empower communities.

About the Role

The VP for Business Excellence oversees several critical functions including Process Excellence, Strategic Project Management, Data Analytics, Knowledge Management, and Strategy Execution. The role partners closely with senior leaders to streamline operations, enhance quality, and drive enterprise-wide transformation. Success in this position is measured by measurable improvements in productivity, efficiency, customer experience, and decision-making effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Business Process Excellence

• Define and oversee the organization's process architecture and ensure processes are standardized, documented, and aligned with best practices and social performance standards.

• Lead end-to-end reviews of operational and support processes to uncover bottlenecks and drive improvement and automation initiatives.

• Establish and monitor process performance measures, conduct root cause analyses, and guide teams in implementing corrective actions.

• Facilitate Lean, Six Sigma, and design thinking initiatives and strengthen process improvement capabilities across units.

Strategic Project and Program Management

• Establish the PMO framework, standards, and governance model to ensure timely and successful delivery of all strategic projects.

• Oversee cross-functional project portfolios and manage interdependencies, risks, and benefits realization.

• Facilitate strategic planning processes and ensure alignment with the organization's strategy map and performance scorecard.

• Mentor project leaders and develop organizational capability in project and change management.

Knowledge Management and Capability Building

• Build systems and platforms that capture and maintain institutional knowledge.

• Lead the documentation of best practices, policies, and learnings.

• Organize learning sessions, communities of practice, and capability-building programs across the organization.

Data Analytics

• Lead the development of data insights that guide planning and decision-making.

• Define organizational KPIs and strengthen data collection, visualization, and reporting systems.

• Promote data literacy and evidence-based decision-making across teams.

Leadership and People Management

• Lead and develop managers and specialists in Business Excellence, Data Analytics, PMO, and Knowledge Management.

• Set performance objectives, provide regular coaching, and foster a culture of collaboration, critical thinking, and accountability.

• Collaborate with management and IT leaders to identify and implement technologies that support business strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field

• MBA preferred

• At least ten years of managerial experience, including leadership roles in process excellence, quality management, and project management

• Six Sigma Green Belt certification required

• PMP certification required

• Experience leading improvement teams and managing large-scale organizational initiatives

• Experience in nonprofit or government organizations is an advantage

• Experience as a director or equivalent senior leadership role preferred

• Preferably based in Cebu Province
