JOB DESCRIPTION

STAFF NURSE

Position Title: STAFF NURSE

Qualification:

· Registered Nurse

Job Description:

a. Assesses nursing care needs and problems of patients at the start of duty.

b. Creates planned standards of care with established standard care for assigned group of patients.

c. Coordinates the medical care plan with the nursing care plan, interprets doctors' orders to achieve the most effective results, relates doctors' orders to appropriate nursing measures.

d. Assist the physician during rounds.

e. Communicates needs of the patient and problems to the head nurses, supervisors and to the doctors as necessary.

f. Records subjective and objective complaints of patient, nursing care implemented, procedures done and evaluation of nursing care.

g. Conducts proper endorsement at the end of the shift for the continuity of patient care.

h. Conducts health teachings/instructions to patients and relatives.

i. Promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships with the medical staff and personnel of other departments, patients, families, and the public.

j. Participates in studies and research programs conducted in the nursing unit.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Participates actively in the in-service education program of the hospital and attends all required safety training programs and responsibly update licenses and certifications

  2. Supports the following programs and guidelines:

a. Infection Control

b. Customer Relations

c. 7S

d. Pharmacy Compliance

  1. Strictly observe hospital and nursing rules, regulations, policies and the code of discipline.

OTHERS:

  1. Perform other functions as may be assigned by immediate superior from time to time

  2. Participates actively in the in-service education program of the hospital and attends all required safety training programs and responsibly update licenses and certifications

  3. Supports the following programs and guidelines:

  1. Strictly observe hospital and nursing rules, regulations, policies and the code of discipline.
