Faculty Assistant/Nurse

The individual in this position serves a dual role within Victory Christian International School

(VCIS) and the HG Hybrid Classes. As School Nurse, they are responsible for promoting the

health, wellness, and safety of students and staff during in-person classes at VCIS. As Faculty

Assistant, they provide direct support to the Principal, Team Lead, and Teachers during HG

Hybrid Class sessions, ensuring smooth classroom operations, communication with parents,

and coordination of materials and tasks. This role requires a caring, proactive, and organized

professional who can manage both medical and educational responsibilities efficiently.

I. SCHOOL NURSE RESPONSIBILITIES (VCIS)

A. Health and Medical Care

● Provide first aid, basic healthcare, and emergency response for students and staff.

● Monitor students for signs of illness or injury and take appropriate action, including

isolation or referral to a healthcare provider.

● Administer medications as authorized by parents/guardians and in accordance with

school policy.

● Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the clinic or designated health area.

● Track and manage student health records, including medical histories, immunization

records, and emergency contact details.

B. Communication and Coordination

● Inform and coordinate with parents/guardians regarding student illnesses, injuries, or

medical emergencies.

● Liaise with external healthcare providers, emergency responders, and hospitals as

needed.

● Provide health-related updates to school administrators, ensuring confidentiality and

discretion at all times.

C. Health Policy Implementation and Education

● Assist in the development and enforcement of health and safety protocols, including

COVID-19 or communicable disease guidelines.

● Conduct health screenings and wellness checks as necessary.

● Promote preventive health practices and general wellness across the school community.

● Provide basic health education to students and staff, when applicable.

II. FACULTY ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES (HG Hybrid Classes)

A. Instructional and Classroom Support

● Assist teachers during Hybrid class days in classroom preparation, student supervision,

and activity facilitation.

● Support students with their academic tasks or technical issues during class as needed.

● Serve as a substitute teacher in the event of teacher absences, following the lesson plan

provided.

● Substitute teaching experience is preferred to effectively fulfil substitute teacher duties when required.

B. Communication and Coordination

● Communicate announcements, reminders, and updates to parents and guardians.

● Call or message parents in cases of urgent concerns involving student behavior,

attendance, or wellness during class days.

● Maintain a respectful and professional communication tone that reflects the school's

values.

C. Administrative and Logistical Support

● Procure, prepare, and organize instructional materials or supplies required by teachers

and the Team Lead.

● Maintain inventory of classroom or office supplies and inform relevant staff of

replenishment needs.

● Assist in coordinating logistics for field trips, school activities, or Hybrid-related events.

D. Program and Project Participation

● Attend and participate in all relevant staff meetings, trainings, and planning sessions.

● Lead or assist in the execution of assigned projects or events (e.g., student showcases,

academic fairs, recognition programs).

● Demonstrate flexibility by being assigned or re-assigned to different grade levels or

subject areas as needed.

E. General Support Duties

● Uphold and model Christian values in all interactions and responsibilities.

● Provide other related support services as needed or assigned by the HG Hybrid Team

Lead or Principal.

Qualifications:

● Licensed Nurse (with active PRC license) – required for School Nurse role

● Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Education, or related field – preferred

● Experience in a school setting (healthcare or administrative) is an advantage

● A minimum of 3+ years of school nursing or healthcare experience is required.

● Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills

● Proficient in using messaging apps, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms), and

basic office tools

● Strong sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and professionalism

● Flexible and willing to support different areas based on school needs
