
VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE

Job Responsibilities:A. Strategy and VisionAdvise the President and COO & Vice-Chairman-Treasurer and other key members of senior management on financial planning budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters. Serve as the management liaison to the board and audit committee; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings.
Contribute to the development of the company's strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization. Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the President and COO & Vice-Chairman-Treasurer informed of all critical issues. Represent the organization externally, as necessary, particularly in banking and financial matters.
B. Team Development/LeadershipOversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance and operations teams. Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality. Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development.
Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments. Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results. C. OperationsUpgrade and implement an appropriate finance system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process. Directing all aspects of finance and accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, treasury and financial reporting. Analyzing company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets.
Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management. Providing strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs. Developing and coordinating all relationships with lending/financial institutions, external auditors, local and national government in terms of taxation.
Developing and maintaining all necessary finance and accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Lead senior management in financial planning and results management.
Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking. Managing relationships with insurance providers and ensuring compliance. Managing all tax planning and compliance with all required local, national and other applicable taxes.
Managing cash flow and treasury matters. Interacting with venture capital partners and board of directors. Ensure that the company is adhering to the strategic plan, delivering status reports to the board.
Provide analytical support to the company's internal management team including development of internal management reporting capabilities. Improve administrative and operational finance and accounting services such as treasury management, grants payment processing, receivables, accounts payable, and implementation of audit and internal controls. D. StandardsInstitute internal safeguards on funds, assets, company properties and recommending improvements to maximize efficiency of office facilities and equipment.
Help in developing new and enhancing work processes in close coordination with the Finance and Accounting Managers to provide corrective actions to recurring problems including internal guest complaints, as well as preventive actions to avoid potential problems from occurring. Monitor compliance of all accounting projects/activities to all regulatory requirements. Enforce the Company and Employee Code of Conduct.
E. Workforce EngagementLead in division/department employee selection, hiring, training, placement, movement, rewards and recognition. Evaluate the performance of immediate reports on a regular basis. F. Ad HocPerform other tasks that may be assigned either individually or as part of a committee.
Job Specifications:Graduate of Bachelor's/College Degree in AccountancyCertified Public AccountantWith more than 5 year(s) work experience as VP for Finance/ Group Comptroller/ Chief Finance Officer from the same group of restaurants
Proficient in SAPDemonstrate analytical and quantitative skill
Can work in fast-paced environment
