IT Specialist

Job Description:

The IT Specialist is mainly responsible in the day-to-day management and enhancement of the organization's information technology infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

  • Troubleshoots and debugs IT systems to ensure error free functionality and end-user satisfaction.
  • Provides phone, live chat, or in-person support, depending on the needs of the users.
  • Installs needed hardware or software in the company devices.

Network Administration:

  • Performs set-up, enhancement and maintenance of the network.
  • Ensures that network is running, and all devices have access to ensure continuous work activities of the employees.
  • Provides recommendation on improvement of the network access.

Software Development and Maintenance:

  • Designs, analyses and implements efficient IT systems or programs that will be requested by management.
  • Maintains existing IT systems of the company.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of technology resources already in use or new systems that are being implemented.
  • Keeps up to date on emerging technologies and the potential effectiveness of advancements in the current system.
  • Determines the practicality of changes and modification of systems.

IT Security:

  • Administers network and data security, including directory, group policy, firewalls, antivirus, email security, etc.
  • Ensures compliance to IT Security as mandated by the global headquarters.
  • Reports any IT Security-related concerns.

Database Administration:

  • Builds an organization's database and storage and sets-up retrieval process.
  • Prepares back-up process to ensure availability of data.
  • Sets up IT monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
  • Keeps a list of IT assets and conducts regular inventory based on set schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related course
  • At least three (3) years work experience in IT-related function
  • Knowledgeable in Network, Software Administration, IT Infrastructure, Google Sheets/Docs/Workspace
  • Background in shipping/logistics system is an advantage
  • Must have a good oral and written English communication skills
