Job Summary

The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and analysis of all financial activities for both Japonesa (Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant) and Alamat (Filipino cuisine pub). This role ensures compliance with financial standards, supports efficient budgeting, and provides accurate insights to management. The Accountant will work closely with the operations, purchasing, and management teams to maintain financial integrity and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial records and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Oversee budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenses, and overall financial performance.
  • Review and verify invoices, delivery receipts, and payment documents.
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Inventory teams to reconcile deliveries, purchase orders, and supplier payments.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure proper financial procedures.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, government agencies, and tax consultants as needed.
  • Prepare and file tax reports, permits, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze cost structures, identify inefficiencies, and propose cost-saving measures.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records, reports, and documentation.
  • Support management in decision-making by providing financial insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years proven experience as an Accountant or similar role, preferably in the F&B, hospitality, or retail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong sense of integrity, responsibility, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Experience in cost accounting, inventory reconciliation, or restaurant financial operations is a strong advantage.
