Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • A professional certification like a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a tax-related role, with a focus on tax planning or compliance oversight, is essential.

Skills and Competencies

  • Expertise in Tax Law: A deep and current understanding of Philippine tax laws and regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex tax implications, identify risks and opportunities, and develop strategic solutions.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and lead cross-functional teams to implement tax changes.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively cascade new tax rules to various teams and provide expert advice to management.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all tax-related research and plans.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tax Compliance Monitoring: Monitor the tax team's adherence to all relevant tax rules and regulations. Conduct internal reviews to ensure tax filings and reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Tax Planning and Implementation: Proactively monitor new and upcoming tax laws and regulations, assessing their potential impact on the company's business operations. Study the tax implications of all new projects, transactions, and business decisions to ensure compliance and maximize benefits. Develop, present and lead the implementation of approved plans to ensure the successful adoption of all tax-related changes.
  • BOI Application and Compliance Monitoring: Filing of applications and registration with the Board of Investments (BOI), to secure fiscal and non-fiscal incentives for the company's projects. Monitor and ensure continuous compliance with all post-registration BOI requirements to retain these benefits.
