
Assessment Development Specialist

The Assessment Development Specialist supports the development, review, and validation of assessment tools. The Assessment Development Specialist helps ensure alignment of assessment tools with curriculum standards, contributes to test item writing and review, performs quality checks, and documents development processes. The role also involves coordinating with subject matter experts (SME) and supporting assessment-related activities to meet quality and delivery standards.
The Assessment Development Specialist supports the development of assessment tools by assisting in the preparation, organization, and review of test items and other assessment-related materials. The role helps ensure alignment of assessment tools with content standards and assessment specifications and provides logistical and administrative support for assessment development projects.
Assist in drafting assessment blueprints, content frameworks, and test item specifications under the guidance of the Supervisor.
Support the development of test items in collaboration with item writers and SMEs.
Participate in test item writing and review sessions to help ensure alignment with learning objectives and content standards.
Organize and document feedback from test item review meetings and support revisions based on Supervisor guidance.
Conduct initial quality checks of test items and assessment materials to ensure completeness, clarity, and proper formatting.
Identify potential content issues, such as duplication, inconsistency, or misalignment with test specifications.
Assist in preparing data for test item analysis and support interpretation in collaboration with psychometricians.
Maintain organized records of test items, including version histories, review notes, and validation outcomes.
Provide logistical and administrative support for assessment development activities, such as coordinating meetings and workshops.
Monitor timelines for assigned tasks and support project coordination by tracking progress and reporting delays to the Supervisor.
Assist in preparing documentation, including test item pools, review summaries, and reports related to assessment development.
Deliver presentations to communicate assessment results to parents, teachers, and school administrators.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelor's degree in education, assessment and evaluation, psychology or a related field is required.
Certification in assessment development or related fields may be an advantage.
Experiences:
2-3 years of experience in assessment development or a related field.
Proficiency in assessment design and psychometric principles
Specific Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of assessment development processes, including item writing, review, and revision.
Understanding of psychometric concepts and principles.
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in assessment development
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage complex assessment development projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with team members and subject matter experts.
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
Proficiency in assessment development software and statistical analysis tools.
