Role Purpose & Business Impact:

The Engineering Assistant (Hospitality) is a mission-critical operational role responsible for maintaining the reliability, safety, and performance of all facilities, utilities, and kitchen equipment across NT Group's restaurants and commissaries.

This position directly supports revenue continuity, cost control, food safety, and guest satisfaction by preventing equipment downtime, reducing repair and replacement costs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting timely store openings and renovations. Effective execution minimizes service disruptions that negatively impact service speed, food quality, and the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Facility Safety & Compliance

• Conduct routine facility inspections to ensure compliance with Company standards, safety regulations, sanitation requirements, and operational best practices.
• Identify safety risks, equipment inefficiencies, or potential system failures and recommend corrective actions to prevent operational losses or guest impact.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with internal SOPs and applicable regulatory and safety requirements.

B. Store Expansion, Installation & Projects

• Provide technical support for new store openings, commissary setups, renovations, and equipment fit-outs.
• Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of kitchen equipment and mechanical systems to ensure operational readiness prior to store launch.
• Coordinate with Operations, Contractors, and Suppliers to support timely, safe, and cost-effective project execution.

C. Asset Management & Documentation

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service histories, repair documentation, and spare parts inventories.
• Support asset tracking and lifecycle documentation to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and capital expenditure planning.
• Submit timely technical updates and maintenance reports to Engineering and Operations leadership.

D. Vendor & Contractor Coordination

• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs, maintenance, and certifications.
• Monitor service quality, response time, and cost efficiency to protect Company interests and operational uptime.

Qualifications:

• Vocational, Technical, or TESDA certification in Electrical Installation & Maintenance, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field.
• Valid safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, Electrical Safety) are preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of hands-on experience in maintenance and repair work within the F&B, retail, or hospitality industry, preferably involving commercial kitchen equipment, walk-in coolers, and HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with major commercial kitchen and refrigeration brands (e.g., Hobart, True, Carrier) is an advantage.
• Strong technical skills in troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
• Experience working with 220V/440V commercial electrical systems, motor controls, and industrial equipment.
• Willingness and ability to travel across multiple branches within Metro Manila.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required; professional driver's license is mandatory.
• Flexible to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
