HR Shares Services Manager

Joining a recently opened office in Manila to support a growing UK business in the mortgage market. This is an exciting time to join a newly created team and play a key role in building out the local HR function. You'll help shape processes and provide support across both our UK and Philippines operations, making a real impact as we continue to expand.

What you will be doing

You'll play a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality HR service for our Manila office while working closely with colleagues in the UK. This is a hands-on management role where you'll manage local HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits, employee relations, while also driving process improvements and building a strong HR Shared Services capability. Expect to be hands-on in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and problem-solving are key.

Key responsibilities include:

• Act as the lead for local employee relations and disciplinary matters, partnering with UK HR Business Partners to ensure consistency.

• Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding for Manila-based roles, collaborating with HRBPs to align with company standards.

• Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with government reporting requirements.

• Ensure accurate HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including contracts, leave, and offboarding.

• Drive engagement initiatives and support performance management and training programmes.

• Maintain and improve HR systems (SAP), ensuring data integrity and process efficiency.

• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Manila and the UK, bridging cultural and operational gaps.

• Lead and develop a high performing HR team, setting up processes and frameworks where needed.

• Step outside of process when required to resolve issues swiftly and manage expectations effectively.

We're looking for a high calibre HR professional with credibility, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to operate on a global scale. You'll be comfortable working in a fast moving environment, balancing hands-on delivery with big picture thinking. This role requires someone who can build, adapt, and lead with confidence.

You'll bring:

• Proven experience in HR operations within a global or UK linked organisation.

• Strong knowledge of Philippine employment legislation and HR best practices.

• Hands-on experience in payroll, benefits, and HR administration.

• Exposure to HR Shared Services or centralised HR support models.

• Ability to set up, change, or build HR teams and processes from the ground up.

• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to close gaps between local and UK teams.

• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple locations.

• Ability to work at pace, resolve issues pragmatically, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

• Proficiency in HR systems (SAP preferred).

• A proactive, adaptable approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
