Job Title: Teacher Aide

Reports to: School Head / Lead Teacher

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Teacher Aide plays a vital role in supporting the Lead Teacher in delivering high-quality early childhood education while ensuring that the entire school environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning. This role requires both active engagement with students in the classroom and strict adherence to the school's cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom Support

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing and organizing learning materials, supplies, and activity areas.
  • Support classroom activities by guiding students individually or in small groups as directed by the teacher.
  • Help manage student behavior in alignment with the school's discipline policies.
  • Monitor children during playtime, mealtime, and rest periods to ensure safety and wellbeing.
  • Assist in implementing classroom routines, transitions, and schedules smoothly.

School Cleanliness & Maintenance

  • Maintain the cleanliness, order, and safety of the entire school, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, common areas, outdoor play areas, and storage spaces.
  • Follow the school's cleaning standards and schedules, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, and ensuring sanitary restrooms.
  • Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling in all areas of the school.
  • Regularly inspect the school premises to identify any maintenance or safety concerns and report them promptly.
  • Maintain organized storage of supplies, learning materials, and cleaning equipment.
  • Assist in setting up and cleaning up during events, school programs, and special activities.

Student Care & Safety

  • Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, and transitions to ensure safety.
  • Provide basic first aid when needed and report incidents immediately to the School Head or Lead Teacher.
  • Assist in monitoring hygiene practices among students, such as handwashing and proper restroom use.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or TESDA certification in caregiving, housekeeping, or education is an advantage.
  • Experience working with children in a preschool or daycare setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning practices, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Physically fit to perform cleaning tasks and supervise children.
