The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the company's logistics operations, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of goods to customers and the smooth flow of materials within the supply chain. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a thorough understanding of logistics principles and best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Transportation Management:
- Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods, including selecting carriers, negotiating rates, and tracking shipments.
- Monitor and optimize transportation routes to minimize costs and delivery times.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and identify potential stockouts or surpluses.
- Collaborate with procurement and production departments to ensure timely and accurate inventory replenishment.
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems and procedures.
Warehouse Management:
- Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and picking/packing orders.
- Manage warehouse staff and ensure efficient and safe work practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Customer Service:
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding order status, delivery schedules, and any other logistics-related issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Resolve customer complaints and address any issues that may arise during the delivery process.
Supply Chain Optimization:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics operations.
- Analyze logistics data to identify areas for cost reduction and performance improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
Other Duties as Assigned:
- Participate in meetings and contribute to team discussions.
- Prepare reports and presentations as required.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: at least 1 year of experience in a logistics or supply chain role.
Skills:
- With Experience in route planning
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices
- Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, WMS)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong customer service orientation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of international logistics
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move boxes or other materials (may require assistance)
- Ability to travel occasionally
