AR Specialist

We're looking for an experienced, detail-driven Accounts Receivable Specialist who knows how to secure payments, manage delinquent accounts, and keep the revenue cycle running smoothly—especially within a
pain management

Key Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by establishing payment plans, collecting outstanding balances, and continuously monitoring AR activity.
• Manage delinquent accounts by setting up payment arrangements, tracking payments, and following up promptly when lapses occur.
• Utilize collection agencies and small claims processes when needed—evaluating accounts, pursuing legal remedies, and testifying in court if required.
• Maintain the Medicare bad-debt cost report by tracking billings, monitoring collections, and compiling required documentation.
• Initiate claims against estates by monitoring deceased patient accounts, notifying the legal department, and coordinating with the clerk of court.
• Secure outstanding balances through payroll deductions or automated payment agreements when applicable.
• Support obstetrical payment processes when required by gathering patient information, establishing pre-delivery payment plans, and issuing monthly statements.
• Follow organizational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to maintain efficient work operations.
• Ensure accuracy and quality by meeting department standards and guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of all collection and patient financial information.
• Stay updated on AR best practices by participating in trainings and educational opportunities.
• Uphold professional, state, and federal standards governing revenue cycle management.
• Contribute to the billing department's reputation by taking ownership of tasks, completing new requests, and identifying opportunities to improve workflows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of AR experience in a healthcare or specialty setting; pain management experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Greenway EHR for billing, documentation, and AR tracking.
• Strong understanding of medical billing, collections, claim follow-up, and payer guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive financial discussions with professionalism.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage high-volume AR, follow timelines, and reduce aging accounts effectively.

• Internet: Wired connection with at least 50 Mbps download speed, plus a backup connection (e.g., mobile hotspot or prepaid Wi-Fi)
