Job Summary

This role is responsible for the comprehensive planning, design, and execution support of Fiber Optic Cable (FOC) network projects. It involves a wide scope of work ranging from route planning and material specification to fiber allocation, splicing design, and preparation of work orders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cable route plans, scopes of work, and material lists for FOC rollout and expansion projects.
  • Develop technical compliance documentation and other bidding requirements.

  • Create detailed plans for fiber allocation, splicing, and work orders related to:

  • Node migration

  • Fiber facility migration
  • GPON FTTH deployment
  • Conduct site surveys for critical projects such as cable relocations and node migrations.
  • Attend coordination meetings with government and private entities regarding FOC projects.
  • Perform site acceptance checks for completed FOC rollout activities.
  • Maintain and update as-built drawings for both outside and inside plant infrastructure, including fiber allocation and splicing diagrams for core cables.

  • Prepare Dark Fiber Studies, including:

  • Total and per-link loss assessments

  • Cable route planning
  • Feasibility analysis and final approval documentation
  • Stay current with advancements in fiber optic technology, industry standards, and trends to support continuous improvement.

  • Conduct technical evaluations of new FOC materials and components, such as:

  • Patch cords

  • Fiber optic cables
  • Closures
  • FIC connectors
  • Other physical layer devices
Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Graduate of any engineering or technical course related to telecommunications, electronics, or IT is preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 2–4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a service-oriented company.
  • Proven background in outside/inside plant engineering, fiber optic cable technology, and GPON FTTH/MDU deployments.
