PRIMARY FUNCTION 

The Demand Planner is responsible for analyzing, maintaining, and improving reports that directly support inventory management and demand forecasting across the organization. This role combines strong data analytics with supply chain principles, with a focus on ensuring accurate inventory reporting, optimizing stock availability, and supporting data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in data analysis for inventory, deep knowledge of product-based inventory management, and proficiency in tools such as Excel, Power BI, and SQL.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Inventory Management & Reporting

  • Monitor and report on out-of-stock (OOS) items utilizing the OOS Power BI Report.
  • Identify SKUs that are currently OOS or at risk of going OOS (including On-Ocean shipments).
  • Determine root causes for OOS items and recommend immediate actions (e.g., expediting with factories).
  • Investigate trigger changes and fluctuations in product performance.
  • Track and analyze sales trends of the top 200 products.
  • Provide regular inventory reporting to support supply chain and business decisions.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, validate, and analyze data from multiple sources (e.g., FedEx, UPS, Amazon, returns platforms).
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI to support demand planning and inventory visibility.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure data consistency and accuracy across systems.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in existing reports and dashboards.
  • Proactively provide insights to improve forecasting accuracy and inventory efficiency.

Tools & Systems

  • Leverage advanced Excel functions, SQL queries, and Power BI reporting for analysis and decision support.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure alignment between demand signals and inventory management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in data analysis with a focus on inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and demand planning principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and SQL.
  • Experience in product-based inventory reporting and forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate insights effectively across departments.
