Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Must be a Licensed Mechanical Engineer.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in facilities maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting is required.
  • Proven competence in supervising and managing Mechanical Technicians and Contractors.
  • Working knowledge of local safety regulations and standards, specifically the Philippine Mechanical Engineering Code.
  • Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Google Applications) for accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of drawing and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance and Reliability:

  • Conduct regular inspections of mechanical equipment, machinery, and systems to ensure optimal performance and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all critical mechanical assets, including mixing machines, conveyors, pumps, cooling towers, chillers, the generator set, fire pump, and other auxiliary equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults or failures and execute appropriate corrective actions efficiently to minimize operational downtime.

Team Leadership and Supervision:

  • Oversee and supervise the Mechanical Technicians in the repair, adjustment, and replacement of faulty mechanical components to restore systems to operational status.
  • Delegate duties and responsibilities effectively to the Mechanical Technicians.
  • Evaluate and review the daily operational checklists submitted by Process Engineers.

Safety, Compliance, and Installation:

  • Ensure that all maintenance activities, particularly electrical maintenance, strictly comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Oversee the installation of new mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment in adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Emergency Response:

  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies such as power outages, short circuits, or critical equipment failures to quickly restore systems to normal functioning.
