Fills prescriptions and dispense pharmaceutical products including dangerous drugs. Files and maintains prescriptions for two (2) years. Ten (10) years for dangerous drugs.

Compound medications not commercially available.

Communicate with prescribers when prescription is unclear, need to confirm dosage and formulation, as well as whether the brand is not available and required to substitute generic equivalent. Also notifies physicians on any therapeutic incompatibilities, potential drug interactions and duplicate prescription.

Ensure patients' safety that the right patient takes the right drug and right dosage at the right time, also check each patient's medicines prior to dispensing.

Counsel outpatients, includes training outpatients how and when to take doses, listen to patient's concerns, sharing advice on using non-prescription remedies, taking health supplements such as vitamins.

Checks the manufacture and expiration dates of drug products, conducts daily/weekly/monthly inventory of medicines and supplies.

Attends to the administrative needs of the hospital.

Attends scientific seminar-workshops/consultative meeting and consultative meeting and continuing education on drug-related matters and hospital pharmacy practices.

Participates in continuous quality improvement program (CQIP) of the pharmacy service.

10.   Performs other pharmacy related-government policies.

11.   Ensure implementation of the pharmacy standard operating procedure (SOP)

12.   Monitor stocks, equipment's, and requisitions regularly.

13.   Guide subordinates in work prioritization and specific tasks to be performed.

14.   Ensures that all bad stocks are pulled out (damaged, expiring/expired) in his/her assigned medicine cabinet.
