Draftsman

Overview

We are seeking a Draftsman with specialized experience in woodworks and modular systems, particularly in designing doors, doorjambs, and modular cabinetry. This role requires precision, creativity, and a strong understanding of wood fabrication techniques. The ideal candidate will produce detailed shop drawings for production and installation, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create accurate and detailed shop drawings for woodworks including doors, doorjambs, modular cabinets, wardrobes, and custom furniture.
• Interpret architectural and interior design plans, translating them into buildable and production-ready layouts.
• Collaborate with project managers, production teams, and installers to ensure design compatibility and material efficiency.
• Revise drawings based on design changes, site conditions, or client feedback.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, construction tolerances, and joinery techniques.
• Prepare cutting lists, material specifications, and hardware placements for production.
• Conduct site visits or field measurements when necessary to validate dimensions and fitting details.
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure specified materials and hardware are feasible for fabrication.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date CAD files and documentation for each project.
• Provide guidance and review work done by junior draftsmen or CAD operators when applicable.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2years of experience as a Draftsman, with a focus on woodworks such as doors, doorjambs, cabinets, and modular systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge in SketchUp, Revit, Cabinet Vision, or similar design software is a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of wood materials, joinery techniques, and furniture hardware integration.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, interior plans, and technical specifications.
• Experience in preparing detailed shop drawings, cutting lists, and hardware schedules for production.
• Keen attention to detail, accuracy, and quality in all drawing outputs.
• Strong coordination and communication skills to work with project teams, suppliers, and fabricators.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Graduate of Drafting Technology, or a related technical field.
