Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager oversees the entire accounting operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, proper inventory handling, and strong internal controls. This role supports the unique demands of a retail business dealing with imported mosaics, tiles, and slabs—where costing, inventory movement, and multi-branch transactions are critical.
Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP, AR, and payroll.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition, expenses, accruals, and inter-branch transactions.
2. Inventory & Cost Management
- Monitor and validate inventory costing for tiles, slabs, and mosaic products, including:
- landed cost computation
- freight, duties, and warehousing
- breakage, returns, and stock adjustments
- Coordinate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure correct stock movement and reconciliation.
3. Cash Flow & Budgeting
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor fund requirements.
- Assist in annual budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Oversee credit limits, collection aging, and sales-to-collection cycle.
4. Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and BIR regulations.
- Maintain internal controls for sales, collections, inventory, and procurement.
- Review and implement accounting policies to support multi-branch operations.
5. Team Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise the accounting team, including AP, AR, payroll, and bookkeeping staff.
- Conduct training, performance reviews, and workflow improvements.
- Coordinate with sales, warehouse, procurement, and operations for accurate data flow.
6. External Coordination
- Liaise with auditors, banks, suppliers, and government agencies.
- Support tax team during audits and filings by providing financial schedules and reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
- CPA preferred (or required depending on company policy).
- At least 5–7 years accounting experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Experience in retail, distribution, construction materials, or import-based industries is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and landed cost processes.
- Proficient in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or equivalent).
