Job Overview:

The Information Security Specialist (Philippines) will serve as the primary InfoSec point of contact for our operations in the Philippines, working closely with the global Information Security team. This role focuses on the implementation, localization, and continuous operation of the Information Security Management System (ISMS), aligned with ISO 27001, SOC 1, and SOC 2 standards, across the Philippines region. The specialist will adapt global security practices to local contexts, ensuring compliance with both organizational policies and local regulatory requirements. As the business grows, this role has the potential to evolve into a regional team lead, overseeing broader security operations and governance across the Philippines.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with operational InfoSec tasks, including risk management, audit readiness, and security incident response, while demonstrating leadership potential and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

ISMS Implementation & Localization

  • Collaborate with the global Information Security team to implement and localize ISO 27001, SOC 1, and SOC 2 controls for the Philippines.
  • Maintain local documentation, internal controls, and audit evidence in alignment with global standards.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (IT, HR, Legal) to ensure security practices are integrated into local operations.

Cybersecurity Operations & Incident Response

  • Support daily security operations, including ticketing systems, incident monitoring, and BCP/DR facilitation.
  • Act as the first responder for security incidents, escalating as necessary.
  • Partner with the IT team to manage vulnerabilities, patching, and endpoint compliance.

Compliance & Audit Readiness

  • Assist in internal and external audits related to ISO 27001, SOC 1, SOC 2, and local data protection requirements (e.g., DPA 2012).
  • Maintain audit evidence and support the closure of audit findings.
  • Promote policy awareness and support evidence gathering for audits.

Cross-functional Engagement & Project Support

  • Collaborate with Talent, SDU, and Admin teams to align InfoSec controls with new hire onboarding, offboarding, and office security procedures.
  • Act as the InfoSec representative for new projects (e.g., SaaS tool integrations, office expansions) to ensure security compliance.

Leadership Development & Regional Strategy Support

  • Build an understanding of the regional risk landscape and local compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of the Philippines-specific risk register and business continuity plans.
  • Prepare for future leadership opportunities, with the potential to manage the regional InfoSec team.

Qualifications:

Required Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in Information Security or Compliance, with exposure to ISO/SOC frameworks, security operations, and audit support.
  • Strong familiarity with ISO 27001 and SOC 1 & SOC 2 controls and documentation.
  • Exposure to Philippines data privacy regulations (e.g., DPA 2012).
