About the role :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Analyst to join Brighten Home Loans, a leading non-bank lender in Australia. This role is pivotal in providing financial analysis, reporting, and insights to support strategic decision-making across the organisation.

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for managing financial data integrity, preparing financial models, reconciling systems, and supporting the month-end reporting process. The successful candidate will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Asset Management, Lease Administration, and Technology, to ensure accurate financial reporting and enhance system efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

Financial Systems & Reporting

• Develop and publish financial reports using tools such as MRI, Nexus/MyBuildings, Power BI, and Excel.
• Reconcile modules and ledgers to ensure data integrity across financial systems.
• Respond to financial system audit queries with detailed and accurate information.

Analysis & Insights

• Analyse system operations and propose solutions to strengthen financial controls.
• Provide insights to management on key financial metrics and trends.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and fund modelling processes.

System Maintenance & Support

• Troubleshoot and resolve financial system issues, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Maintain data integrity across user accounts, delegations, and assignments.
• Support the implementation of process improvements and system upgrades.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with internal teams including Finance, Technology, and Asset Management.
• Liaise with external vendors and property management partners on system requirements.
• Deliver end-user training and maintain system documentation.

Skills, Qulaifications and Experience

Essential

• 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, system administration, or reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to apply financial management and control concepts.
• Strong knowledge of Excel (advanced formulas, modelling) and reporting tools.
• Experience with financial systems such as MRI, Nexus/MyBuildings, or similar.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, analyse, and resolve system and data issues.

Desirable

• Exposure to property or mortgage accounting environments.
• Working knowledge of Power BI dashboards and SQL databases.
