Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Implementation:
  • Develop electrical schematics, control panels, and automation systems for water/wastewater processes (e.g., pumps, motors, chemical dosing, filtration).
  • Power system design such as Single Line Diagram, Schedule of Loads, equipment feeder, protection and starter sizing, electrical and equipment layout, and other necessary electrical engineering design.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems for process control and monitoring.
  • Integrate instrumentation (flow meters, pressure sensors, level transmitters) with control systems.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues in water/wastewater infrastructure including motor & control panel troubleshooting.
  • Perform calibration, testing, and maintenance of equipment, instrumentation, and control devices.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and industry standards (e.g., AWWA, ISA).
  • Collaboration & Documentation:
  • Work with cross-functional teams (mechanical engineers, operators, contractors) to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, control narratives, and O&M manuals.
  • Support commissioning, startup, and training for clients and operators.
  • --+ years in electrical engineering, specifically within water/wastewater or industrial process environments.
  • Hands-on experience with control systems (PLCs, SCADA, VFDs) and basic instrumentation (sensors, transmitters, actuators).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, or similar electrical design tools.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and safety practices.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control logic.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for client and team interactions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with motor control centers (MCCs), power distribution systems, or renewable energy integration.
  • Basic programming skills (Ladder Logic, Structured Text).
  • Knowledge of water treatment processes (e.g., aeration, disinfection, sludge handling).
