Fiber Optic Splicer

  • Perform fiber optic cable splicing, including fusion and mechanical splicing of single and multi-strand fiber.
  • Conduct OTDR and power meter testing to ensure signal strength and network integrity.
  • Interpret and work from schematics, blueprints, and network maps to identify fiber paths and splice points.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of fiber routes, splice records, test results, and daily reports.
  • Handle fiber installations, cutovers, and emergency restorations in coordination with the OSP team.
  • Ensure all splicing work complies with company standards and safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and other departments regarding project status and issues.
  • Maintain tools, splicing equipment, and vehicle in good working condition.
  • Support expansion projects, upgrades, and repairs on the fiber network as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Vocational or technical course in electronics or telecom preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in fiber splicing or related fieldwork in telecommunications.
  • Proficient in using fusion splicing machines, OTDR, power meter, and other fiber test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret fiber plans, construction drawings, and technical documents.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when required.
  • Physically fit to work in outdoor environments and elevated structures (e.g., poles, ladders, manholes).
  • Driver's license is an advantage.

Pay: Php15, Php20,000.00 per month
