Load Control Officers

Performs accurate and safe load distribution of passenger, baggage and cargo as part of weight and balance planning and as prescribed within aircraft limitations and Company Operating Manuals/ Procedures

Load Planning/Control

• Ensure that the take-off weight and estimated landing weight of a laden aircraft are within approved limits specified by the Company approved manuals for the particular flight and that the maximum Zero fuel weight limitation has not been exceeded.
• Provide the Estimated Zero Fuel Weight(EZFW) to Jetstar flight dispatcher ETD -0230
• Ensure that, according to mathematical and/or graphical calculations, the aircraft Centre of Gravity, including the take-off and zero fuel weight centre of gravity lie within the approved limits specified for the particular aircraft.
• Ensure that load is distributed throughout the Aircraft in accordance with requirement necessary to meet the approved centre of gravity limits.
• Ensure that all load is distributed throughout the Aircraft does not exceed unit Load Device (ULD) or compartment weight limitations. Also, to ensure ULD floor loading limitations and the bulk compartment is not exceeded.
• Ensure and be satisfied that all dead load is distributed in a configuration that can be secured by approved in-hold locking systems.
• Comply with approved regulations relating to carriage of dangerous goods and livestock.
• Ensure that aircraft defects and associated limitations as notified to load control by engineering are considered for load planning and in the preparation of the load sheet.
• Ensure that all procedures and policy as contained in the appropriate company publications are adhered to at all times
• Produces Load Plans (LIR, NOTOC & weight and balance) for the flight and loading sectors ETD -0200
• Approve the load sheet for each Aircraft departure confirming that the aircraft has been satisfactorily loaded according to CASA regulations.
• Produce accurate load sheet (ETD based from the information given by stake holders and as specified in the operations manual

Client Relation

• Monitors & responses to emails, telexes & inquiries regarding planning of flight
• Readily available for contact by either flight crew or ramp agent until flight departs
• Anticipates and resolves issues based on available resources and facts in accordance to load planning policy and with the best course of action that may potentially impact flight operations.
• Responsible in reporting irregularities, operationally and administratively to Operations Supervisor within the shift covered
• Ensures all load planning/control equipment are operational

Documentation

• Supports the Flight Crew by sourcing, collating and providing necessary load information
• Saves all necessary information and documents of each flight in the archive folder
• Ensure flight logs are properly filled

Training

• Sit examinations, gain certifications required by Jetstar for all aircraft operated (B787 and A330 and Dangerous Goods)

Qualifications

Functional Competencies

• At least a Bachelor's Degree in Aviation or other related fields
• Preferably at least 2 years work experience as a Load Controller or Load Planning officer
• Ramp experience is an advantage
• Excellent planning, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Pro-active and able to do tasks with minimal supervision
• Knowledgeable in geography is an advantage
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills
• Excellent computer skills. Must be proficient in various computer applications such as Microsoft Applications, Internet Browsing Platforms, etc. and able to learn and adapt to new applications as necessary.
• Must be eligible to live and work in the Philippines
• Willing to be based in Metro Manila or other locations as may be required by business operations and willing to travel due to business/ training requirements
• Amenable to training and working onsite
• Must be able to work on flexible shifts including nights, weekends and/ or holidays

License

• Dangerous Goods Certificate
• CASA Load Control Certification

Education and Work Background

• Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Airline operations management, avionics and maintenance is preferred but not required
• Work experience in Airport operations Management, ground handling, flight dispatch and Airline reservations is preferred but not required
