.NET Back End Engineer

We are looking for a versatile Full Stack .NET Developer to join our team and deliver innovative solutions that drive HELIX priorities and initiatives. This role involves the design, development, and integration of software components using Microsoft .NET Framework, SQL Server, and JavaScript (React).

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable .NET code.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize SQL queries and database procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with Dallas HELIX and ESSPI HELIX teams in an agile environment.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as estimation, stand-ups, grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Update and track progress of user stories and tasks in JIRA.
  • Perform thorough code reviews and pre-QA testing to ensure quality before release.
  • Submit pull requests, manage code merges, and assist in software release processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects identified by QA teams or end users.
  • Foster a team culture of openness, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and customers.
  • Monitor daily service deliverables and prepare necessary reports.
  • Support other team members to ensure service continuity and smooth delivery.
  • Expand understanding of business processes and IT systems relevant to HELIX.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, updates, and development best practices.
  • Share technical expertise with team members through mentoring or training sessions.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Core Qualifications and Education
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Microsoft .NET development.
  • 4+ years of experience with SQL Server.
  • 1+ year of experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • 1+ year of experience using React.
  • 1+ year of experience with ES6 or TypeScript.
  • 2+ years of experience using Git for version control.
  • 1+ year of experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies, frameworks, and design patterns.
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices, including testing, version control, and DRY principles.
  • Solid grasp of web fundamentals such as HTTP, REST APIs, and response codes.
  • Knowledge of .NET best practices, including SOLID principles, Dependency Injection, and Unit Testing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Awareness of emerging software development concepts and industry trends.
  • Ability to document technical details clearly and explain complex concepts concisely.
