Job Overview
The Training Director is responsible for developing, leading, and executing the overall training strategy for the ESL company. This role ensures that teachers, trainers, and support staff receive high-quality training programs that enhance teaching effectiveness, improve student outcomes, and align with the company's standards and business goals.
The Training Director also oversees curriculum design, leadership development, and continuous professional growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training framework for ESL teachers, academic staff, and leaders.
- Align training initiatives with company objectives, academic quality standards, and client expectations.
- Lead the training department, managing a team of training managers and trainers.
- Monitor training performance and introduce improvements to ensure effectiveness and consistency.
Program & Curriculum Development
- Oversee the design, development, and updating of training modules, including teacher onboarding, teaching methodologies, language proficiency, classroom management, and soft skills.
- Ensure training programs are current, innovative, and incorporate best practices in ESL and education technology.
- Collaborate with academic leaders to align training content with curriculum standards and student learning goals.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Establish clear metrics to evaluate training effectiveness, teacher performance, and student outcomes.
- Conduct training needs assessments and skill gap analyses.
- Ensure compliance with educational and industry standards, both local and international.
People Development
- Implement leadership and career development programs for high-potential employees.
- Mentor and coach trainers, ensuring continuous professional growth.
- Promote a culture of lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Recruitment, and HR to ensure training supports hiring needs and teacher retention.
- Partner with client-facing teams to address specific training requirements and quality expectations.
- Report regularly to senior management on training impact, challenges, and improvement plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in ESL/EFL training, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role.
- Strong background in teacher training, instructional design, and adult learning methodologies.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale training operations in the ESL or education sector.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
- TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification or equivalent (preferred).
- Experience with e-learning platforms and digital training tools.
