  • Job Summary:

The AutoCAD Operator is responsible for creating, updating, and revising technical drawings and plans used in construction projects. This role supports engineers and project managers by producing accurate and detailed 2D or 3D CAD drawings based on design concepts, specifications, and field data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare architectural, structural, civil, or MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD software.
  • Revise drawings based on mark-ups, design changes, and site modifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers and site teams to ensure drawings reflect actual conditions and project requirements.
  • Maintain an organized system for drawing files, revisions, and documentation.
  • Assist in creating as-built drawings and shop drawings as needed.
  • Ensure all drawings meet project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Perform quantity take-offs from drawings when required.
  • Support project planning by providing layout and detail drawings for construction teams.
  • Coordinate with surveyors and field engineers for accuracy in layouts and site plans.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or certificate in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D is a plus).
  • Minimum 1–3 years of drafting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Understanding of construction drawings, building codes, and detailing standards.
  • Ability to interpret and draft from sketches, verbal instructions, or design documents.
  • Familiarity with related software (e.g., Revit, Civil 3D, SketchUp, Navisworks) is an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on infrastructure or civil projects (e.g., roads, bridges, utilities).
  • Knowledge of BIM processes and file coordination is a plus.
  • Understanding of ISO standards and drawing protocols for construction documentation.
