The Buyer will be responsible for canvassing and gathering quotations and preparing Purchase Orders for local and foreign purchases.

Specific duties

  • Checks with the user the exact specifications of materials and supplies as specified in the Purchase Requisition.
  • Canvasses prices from reliable suppliers, requests quotations for price comparisons, and prepares a comparative abstract of offer for proper selection by the Purchasing Officer/Manager.
  • Prepares Purchase Orders, follows up the processing of such, and advises the winning suppliers of items ordered.
  • Follows up deliveries of orders from the suppliers and Good Receiving Note (GRN) from the end users.
  • Verifies with the requisitioners receipts of deliveries and constantly coordinates with all concerned until the delivery receipt is confirmed.
  • Prepares an immediate notice to all concerned regarding cancellations of Purchase Orders.
  • Prepares and submits monthly savings reports.
  • Keeps records pertaining to goods purchased, costs, deliveries, inventories and availability.
  • Searches for new suppliers/contractors for accreditation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Department/ Division Head.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education : College degree.

B. Experience : One (1) year experience in purchasing, sales or warehousing work.

C. Computer literate, knowledge on importation is an advantage.
