Responsibilities
  • Perform ETL testing to validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes across various data sources and targets.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain test cases, test scripts, and test plans for data pipelines.
  • Validate data integrity, mapping rules, and transformation logic based on business requirements.
  • Use SQL to perform data validation, reconciliation, and in-depth investigation of data issues.
  • Execute Unix commands to validate batch processes, file movements, and scheduled jobs.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Developers, and Business Analysts to resolve data defects and improve data quality.
  • Document defects clearly and track them through resolution using standard QA tools.
  • Participate in regression testing and support continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • (Optional) Work with Control-M or similar job scheduling tools to validate and monitor batch job executions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in QA that test for data engineering projects.
  • Experience in ETL / Data warehouse testing with a solid understanding of data flows and transformation logic.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL for querying, analysis, and validation of large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with Unix for navigating file systems, validating files, and running scripts.
  • Good understanding of QA methodologies, testing lifecycle, and defect management processes.
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify data issues, and propose solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Nice to Have: Experience with Control-M or other job schedulers for batch-oriented systems.
