Job Summary

This supervisory role leads the compliance team in developing, implementing, and monitoring regulatory programs. The Compliance & Functional Officer ensures robust controls, guides analysts, and elevates the organization's culture of integrity and ethical conduct.

Job Purpose

To oversee the end-to-end compliance cycle—monitoring, analysis, audits, investigations, and training—while managing a small team. The officer acts as a bridge between departments, senior leadership, and external regulators, ensuring timely reporting and mitigation of compliance risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Law, or related field
  • Minimum of five years of compliance experience, including supervisory responsibilities
  • Proven track record in regulatory reporting, audits, and investigations
  • Strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Monitoring

  • Assign tasks and oversee daily operation of the Compliance Monitoring System.
  • Review and validate analysts' work to confirm deadlines and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Escalate significant gaps or potential violations to the Chief Compliance Officer.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly compliance dashboards and exception reports.
  • Interpret data trends, propose corrective actions, and present findings to senior management.

Audits & Investigations

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute internal compliance audits.
  • Supervise investigations into alleged breaches, guide evidence collection, and draft investigation reports.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as primary liaison for internal departments (Internal Audit, Risk Advisory, IT) on compliance initiatives.
  • Represent the compliance function in interdepartmental steering committees.

Training & Communication

  • Design and deliver advanced compliance training for mid-level managers.
  • Draft policy updates, conduct town-hall briefings, and maintain the compliance intranet portal.

Ethics & Confidentiality

  • Uphold the highest ethical standards in handling sensitive information.
  • Implement protocols to secure confidential data and report any breaches immediately.
